Welcome to Chez Brett

Let's take a look at Chez Brett

You're there!

When you see this house, you know you've found the place...

Come on inside!

Look! It's King Brett, on his throne! Even in low light you can see that he's one beer ahead of you, as it should be.

Brett of Chez Brett

A spiral staircase. It is too tempting not to climb! (And far less dangerous since it was finally bolted down a few years back!)

stairway

The real highlight of the upstairs is the world map.

Before heading back downstairs...

looking down the stairs

...be sure to take a look at Brett's collection of German glassware and homemade labels for homebrewed beer. The prior occupants of this cupboard top were frightened away by BB fire, but the wall sustained no damage that a dab of spackle couldn't fix.

drinking vessels

Oh, and while you're staring into the kitchen from above, you might check out what awaits on the table. Hmm, looks like Cocoa Crunchies is the featured game for tonight's revels.

kitchen table

Back in the kitchen, one might note the stove, which has boiled many a brat in many a bottle of beer. And speaking of beer, those blankets hide a carboy and a fermentation vessel, both full at the time of this picture. The beer will not survive long once ready.

cooking stove

You might well want to take a spell in the sitting room. Note stove & stereo, source of warmth and music. The lack of a TV is intentional. Oh, there is sometimes a TV visiting for South Park or Packer games, but mostly it just gets in the way.

woodstove

Don't worry though, there's plenty to read, even if you don't bring your own tomes.

bookshelf

And these couches make for good reading areas. In a pinch, they can be napped upon. The duvet was pulled back up into it's proper place after this pic was snapped.

couches

Two of the denizens of Chez Brett, and future mascots for the Gopher & Pheasant pub. Rumors that the gopher dances and sings the Caddyshack song are entirely founded in reality, much to our chagrin.

Step out back!

You can see some of the trees, the lake, and the love barge as you walk down to the edge of the water.

boat and trees

You will of course take a better look at the boat when you get to the shore, right? There's been a lot of drinking and stargazing done on this gently weathered pontoon craft.

boat

The whole lake is surrounded by lots of greenery. Just across you can see a nice clump of trees.

trees

If you were to look back at the house, this is what you'd see. A sharp eye will notice a grill, covered in the pic, but always ready to cook brats for our hungry tummies.
